Now, I know that times are hard and debt relief is not just a 1-2-3 process but here are some general tips that I recommend when dealing with debt.
Now, bear in mind this is not a guide, but what you will find are examples of some prime advice when looking at debt relief.
- Check out Dave Ramsey – if you don’t know who this is, Google the name. Also check out the fox business network to see his show.
- Build an Emergency Fund – Before you go and start paying off excess debt you must first build an emergency fund in case something unexpected turns up..
- Don’t Overpay Your Debt - Make sure you have enough for the average costs of living.
- Use the “30 Day” Rule – When you want to buy something “big” use the 30 day rule. Don’t buy the item that day, wait 30 days and see if you still want it.
- Track Your Expenses – Before you can pick out where you are losing money, track your expenses for a month and analytically see where your spending can improve.
- Don’t Go To The Grocery Store Hungry – When you are hungry you make unnecessary purchases. Avoid this and go to the grocery store full.
- Eat Cheaper – When discussing food make sure that you never go out to eat unless on extra special occasions like a prime new job. Otherwise, you have to resort to very basic dining in order to be able to make bigger payments to get out of debt.
